About Wellington Press View our gallery
The Wellington Press has been a Letterpress, Litho and Digital printers for over 85 years. We have been at our current location, just a stones throw from the Olympic Village in East London, for over 20 years. We offer a
range of services from business cards, stationery,
corporate brochures, to bespoke crossmedia
campaigns and many other services.
We have recently installed a new Richo 901+ Digital Press, this adds to our Digital capacity and complements our HP Indigo Digital Press. The 901+ will enable Wellington Press to continue to produce high quality Digital projects in the best time and cost effective way.
Both of our Digital Machines complement our Heidelberg Litho presses, with the print quality of the 901+ and HP Indigo being of the highest commercial standard. With the digital presses producing shorter run projects, this leaves the Heidelberg Litho machines for the longer runs, and the more traditional side of the business including thermography.
We also have an extensive finishing department, which enables us to complete projects on budget and on time. We have Perfect and Wiro binding, Saddle Stitching, Die Cutting, Folding, Creasing and Perforating along with other specialist finishes such as Laminating, Spot UV Varnishing, Foiling and Embossing. We also produce bespoke projects for our clients, these can be one off Presentation Boxes for corporate pitch presentation or Binders and USB presentation packs.
With over 80 years experience in the print industry, Wellington Press has moved with the times and technology to compete and stay on top within the print industry. From running hand fed Machines in the 1930’s, Thompson and Heidelberg Platens in the 1940’s we now offer full colour lithographic printing on Heidelberg 1 and 2 colour machines, and the latest Heidelberg Speedmaster multicolour presses.
We also have a thermographic department to supply stationery and cards with a raised image in single or multicolour. Pre-press work is handled on site in our studio where we have the latest Typesetting and Imaging Technology, including CTP (Computer To Plate) for all presses.
WP Digital’s HP Indigo & Richo machines gives you the opportunity to produce instant high quality printed media, from packaging and promotional material to mailers and point of sale marketing literature. With costs, quantities and turnarounds to suit you. Our in house finishing department ensures that as well as being produced quickly, your digitally printed urgent work can be Laminated, Creased, Folded, Die Cut and made up without compromising quality and delivery times.
For those who have not used digital printing before, the process removes the need for film, plates and make ready times. Allowing for greater flexibility, and turnaround times are rapid. Our digital presses incorporate multiple paper feeds thus eliminating the need to stop the press mid-run and reload a different stock. Print runs can be finished in hours not days.
Large Format Printing
We have recently installed a new Eco Solvent wide format printer, adding to our already extensive digital machine capacity.
We can now offer printing in a far wider range of sizes and an increased range of substrates.
State of the art Eco Solvent Inks increase the durability of the print and the intensity of the colours. We can produce many different types of display solutions, from Pull-up Banner stands to complete Pop-up Display Systems. We can produce display boards on foam or PVC and Banners for indoor or outdoor use, which can be finished with Hems and Eyelets.
Web 2 Print
We have a comprehensive Web 2 Print solution available to all our clients combining the printed and e-marketing options. Each customer can have its own login to a web page that is branded with their own corporate style.
The W2P can be set up to match each customer’s individual requirements. From the basic creation of a business card, to a complete site with a full suite of marketing items from postcards to newsletters that can be fully editable.
Customers can keep control of their brand guide lines making sure collateral has the right corporate look and feel across printed and e-marketing campaigns.
The solution can also be used for stock management. Items that have been printed can be put on the system and clients can call off the stock when required. This can be a very cost effective way of managing your print as items can be run in higher volumes to save money. We can run monthly reports so that you can have a complete audit trail of all your products.
For many years the media have spoken that the ‘printed sheet’ is a dying format, we now have ‘Crossmedia’ the combination of several different media.
This may not be a printed project, but it is a combination of different mass media such as e-mail, conventional letter and web pages. This method can be an extremely effective way to connect to the end user.
Our Award Winner Vodafone Videobook is a great example of how you can combine the latest video screen technology with a printed book and a USB credit card.
We have recently won The Print, Design & Marketing Awards for ‘Best Cross Media Campaign’ for this piece of work.
Last year we produced a project for Saxo Bank. It made great use of ‘Crossmedia’. We combined a popup box and Zipalope that was personalised with the client’s name and a unique ID code. This was mailed to the customer and they were then able to go to a landing web page and put in the unique code to see if they had won an iPad.
Both these projects show how ‘Crossmedia’ can work as a great marketing option. It does not have to be so complex. It could be as simple as a letter being e-mailed to a 2000 name database. This database may have people who don’t have an e-mail address or don’t want to be contacted by e-mail, the software can then print a letter and this can be mailed in the conversational way.
This solution can be achieved by using our latest Web2Print software, more of a ‘Complete On-line Marketing Solution’ then just Web2Print.
